Welcome to the First Grade Escapade
Let’s Learn Together

About Me
Hello all! My name is Tianna Burgstahler. I am beyond excited to be teaching First Grade at KMS Elementary this year. I have been teaching for 3 years. During those three years, I have taught Third Grade, Kindergarten, and now First Grade.
I live in Appleton, Minnesota with my Husband, Riley. We have two children, Dane who is 2 and Addie Grace who is 8 months old. We are also a foster family and have enjoyed our journey welcoming children into our home to receive love when they need it most.
This year will be filled with learning, memories, progress, relationships and FUN!
Please continue navigating downward to find information about our classroom. I look forward to meeting you!

Essential 11
We have so much to learn here in first grade. We will commit to building an exciting and connected environment through building relationships. Beginning on the first day of school we begin with a high expectation for respect and kindness within the classroom. The 11 expectations come from Ron Clark's Essential 55 book. It is so empowering to teach young children how to treat others both inside and outside of the classroom. Since 55 principles are hard to remember, " The Essential 11" are the focus of our year. These are eleven that I think will best enhance the classroom atmosphere that students and I work to create each day!
